Alpha nurtures a positive and productive working environment characterised by good relationships and high expectations. Our team members work with a high degree of autonomy, being trusted to do a good job and supported through enabling line management.

Collaboration and learning are fostered through regular gatherings of Head Office and Scheme staff, as well as periodic all-staff events. We encourage the use of technology to share information and facilitate co-operation, such as through use of the 'Workplace' social media app.

Many Alpha team members value our size allowing them to personally know all their colleagues. Also, as a smaller and less hierarchical housing association, staff members can take on greater and more varied responsibilities earlier in their careers than might be possible elsewhere.

Alpha actively invests in our team members and supports them to thrive in their careers. Team members receive ongoing in-house and external training to keep up-to-date in their areas and to develop new skills.

Participation in sector forums, such as those run by NIFHA and CIH, is encouraged. Membership of relevant professional bodies is supported, including through us paying membership fees. Professional accreditation and the gaining of qualifications is enabled through making time available and helping with fees.
